About Us
"The child is truly a miraculous being, and this should be felt deeply by the educator."
- Maria Montessori
Stepping Stone Montessori School was started in 2002 by Mrs. Renuka Lamech (Graduate from the London Montessori Centre) who has over 30 years of experience working with pre-primary children. We currently have 45 children on campus and 4 trained Montessori teachers and 2 special teachers. We also have 3 helpers to assist with the maintenance of the environment and to tend to basic personal needs of the children.

Our 'House of Children' is protected by CCTV surveillance and all our environments are supervised by adults at all times. The security of our children is our top priority; hence our small entry gate is always locked from the inside.

We follow the Montessori approach to education which was evolved by Dr. Maria Montessori. This is based on the individual need of the child for his/her personal development.
Our Approach.
In order to be calm and happy children under 6 years of age need to explore and discover. They see and build on understanding of the world with “new” eyes. They want to touch everything that stimulates their senses through shapes, sounds, smells, textures, and tastes.
Our Environment.
In our Montessori environment, special materials are used that are uniquely designed to appeal to all 5 senses that encourage learning process. This gives them the freedom to choose their own work and learn independently. Our environment is set up at the child’s eyelevel, making it easy to see and choose materials. This is a child centred community where each child follows his or her path to learning.
Enhance Learning.
The vertical grouping of children where children from 2.3 to 5 work together. This helps children to learn from one another and because of each other. The younger ones learn from observing the older children and the older learn to look after the younger ones making social interactions possible at an earlier age.
